ABOUT

Cosaquitos en Globo (‘Little Cossacks in Ballon’) is a Berlin based Argentine synthpop/synthwave act formed by Maru Pardo Saguier [vocals] and Sebastian Cordoves [synths/programming].

Since their beginnings in 2004, they’ve stood out for their very personal sound with a strong synthpop orientation -supported by the fact that Sebastian builds his own synthesizers- in addition to Maru's vibrant vocals and her filmic and self-reflexive lyrics.

Their songs are built around strong melodies, synthetic sound and dance grooves, travelling through landscapes of deep and evocative images whereas keeping an anchor with the dancefloor, portraying an intensity they know how to translate and deliver into their live shows.

Though independent at heart, many reknown international labels have taken interest in their work, which led them to participate into many compilations around the globe, from their homeland, Argentina, to Chile, Colombia and Mexico; in Europe Belgian electro label Alfa Matrix, included one their songs into ‘Absolute Grrrl’s Manifiesto’ compilation, UK’s Electro London Records, included another of their songs into ‘Synth Wave Vol. 1’ vinyl compilation, and more recently, they have been included into UK’s Aztec and Red Manor Records latests compilations, which collect some of the best synthwave acts around the globe.

Playing live since 2005 in different pubs and clubs of Argentina and Uruguay, they took their music to many parties, events and several festivals, leaving their inprint and becoming part of local underground music history.

They undertook two European tours: the first one in 2011, playing at venues like Superkronik [Leipzig], King Kong Klub and CCCP Club [Berlin], Catwalk Club [Barcelona] and Poptimistic [London].

Their second Euro Tour (2015), saw them playing at clubs like Konzulát, Madame Claude, Brunnen 70, Loophole, Kaffee Burger [Berlin] and Sala Siroco [Madrid].

Settled in Berlin since mid 2019, the present finds them with plans of new music releases and shows to come.
